Let's Travel Back to World War II with romance author Joanne C. Berroa!

From the author of My Life, My Heart, I’m pleased to turn the focus on her newest work, an exciting World War II romance novel and love story, On Angel’s Wings.  Some of you may know I write a few historical romances too and I’ve got one WWII love story out there in the world myself (In The Shadow of War) so you know I’m partial to stories set in that time period.  Without any more fuss, I’ll turn things over to the author herself, the talented Joanne C. Berroa with her post, the blurb, and an excerpt sure to leave you wanting more from her brand new release, On Angel’s Wings from Rebel Ink Press!!
Here’s Joanne:
My hero in On Angels' Wings is named Lt. Johnny Morgan and he's a Navy pilot. I wrote the original manuscript years before I had my second son. When he was born, I named him after my hero in On Angels' Wings---"Johnny." Little did I know when he would turn 17 he would become a licensed pilot! Johnny had never read the book nor had I instilled in him the drive to become a pilot. It was just meant to be, I guess. Once he flew on a jet to California he was hooked! I recently rewrote On Angels' Wings from its original 600+ pages down to about 250 pages. It's a story near and dear to me because it was so many years in the making and because my son became my real life "hero" in many ways!
On Angels' Wings Blurb:

December 1940 found the world on the brink of a conflict greater than it had yet known, but for Anne Miller, USO band singer, the days before Pearl Harbor find her world full of excitement and promise. She had left the comfort of family and friends in Washington, DC to venture out into the distant and beautiful Hawaiian landscape to make a new life for herself and her fiancé, Corporal Daniel Beiler of the American Army forces.

Little did she know her perfect world was just an illusion. She didn’t expect to fall in love with a Navy pilot she’d meet at the USO dancehall on the eve of “the day that will live in infamy.” Her love for Daniel would be threatened while she fought with new and strange emotions for the brave and reckless Lieutenant Johnny Morgan. How could she love both men, although quite differently, and remain true to either? Will the outbreak of WWII tear their lives apart or pull them together in rain drenched islands in the South Pacific?
On Angels’ Wings is a story of desperation, hope, and fulfillment during the tumultuous years of World War II.
On Angels' Wings Excerpt:
Johnny nodded. He strapped on the headphones which connected to the Fort Shafter spotters, but the line was full of static. “Give me the telephone,” he said. It took only a few seconds to get through the regular Army circuit to the switchboard operator at the center. “There’s a bunch of planes coming our way,” Johnny said without preliminary. “I’m looking right at the radar screen. We expecting planes this morning?” he asked. After the operator replied, Johnny hung up. “They’ll get back to us.”

A moment later, the phone rang and George picked it up. It was a short call. “The Lieutenant says not to worry,” George said, relaying the message.

“What the hell?” Johnny said. “We’ve got something like fifty planes approaching Pearl if this set’s not on the fritz. I plot their distance at ninety-two miles and closing at one hundred and eighty miles per hour.”

You’ll find On Angel’s Wings on Amazon.com, at All Romance Ebooks, on Bookstrand.com, and at Barnes and Noble.com.  Check it out today – I’m heading over to pick up a copy myself and I can’t wait to read it.

And if you like it (or any author’s title) please, please take a few minutes when you’re finished to share what you liked.  A review (or even just a “like”) doesn’t have to be long but it means more than you’re probably aware to the author.  Heck, it can even boost a few sales!
