Today we welcome fellow author Ana Hart to Author In The House. Ana's taking over today with a serious post on a subject which ties into her new release, Reborn.
It's an important message and it sounds like an amazing read! Without further ado, here's Ana....
Oh, yeah, and Sarelia, an elder spirit of the Lower World, gifted him with powers beyond his wildest imaginings only a few months ago. Some people would have been grateful. Others would have simply been in denial.
All Daniel feels is resentment.
Because honestly, Daniel's life is kinda sucking at the moment. His girlfriend Malorie dumped him. He's crashing on his brother, Mark's couch (who's being a bit of a dick about the whole thing), and his best friend, James Harin, won't stop smothering him with pity.
But when Daniel bumps into the sexy Alyssa Vega at The Pub and ends up going home with her for some no-strings-attached fun, something finally seems to be going right. Alyssa is just the spot of normalcy Daniel needs in his freak show of a life.
Until his sexy one night stand turns out to be a freak just like him. A rather badass freak as a matter of fact.
So much for normalcy.
As the temptation to use the power Sarelia gave him grows stronger, Daniel finally gives in and embraces the strength the power gives him. With it, he can do anything.
Well, except raise the dead.
Too bad the power's so damn addicting.

The Inner Battle: Fighting Against Addiction by Ana
Hart
Thanks so much Lee Ann for having me on your blog today!
Since you've been posting about the subject of war recently in honor of your
latest release, In the Shadow of War (congratulations, by the way!), I
decided to do a post about war, as well. But a different kind of war – the
inner kind.
Addiction, to any substance, isn't a humorous topic (which
means I'm putting on my serious hat today!), but it's something many people
face on an everyday basis. I have an addictive personality and because of that,
I've always tried to be super careful. I've never done any sort of drug. I've
never smoked tobacco. I only drink when I'm around my friends and only then in
moderation. Alcoholism runs in my family (along with a slew of other unpleasant
things), so I've always been incredibly wary about my alcohol consumption.
Thankfully, I've managed to keep away from all the seriously
bad stuff and to this day, the only thing I'm really addicted to is caffeine
(and maybe chocolate. Dark chocolate). By all definitions, caffeine is
technically a drug, but it could always be worse, right? That's what I always
tell myself.
My recent release, Reborn, the first book in my One
Powerful Addiction series, deals with the subject of addiction, though I've
tried my best to spin it in a humorous light. That's how I deal with all the
unpleasant things in life – humor. I laugh when I'd rather cry and it gets me
through to yet another day. Reborn is also unique in that it's a romance
told explicitly in the first-person from the hero's point-of-view (save for the
half-page third-person prologue). True, the addiction the main character,
Daniel Webb, faces on a daily basis is one none of us will probably ever face
as he's addicted to a supernatural power that he's been cursed with, but the
heart of the matter remains the same. Addiction is a serious thing, and as the
series progresses, Daniel will have to decide which means more to him: His life
(which is spiraling quickly out of control) or this supernatural energy he's
decided he can't live without.
Blurb for Reborn:
Daniel Webb is your fairly average
twenty-something year-old living in the bustling city of Stone Hills, Arkansas.
High school graduate, College dropout, and currently an employee of a local
coffee shop, where he spends the majority of his nights hovering over a hot
grill. You know, a totally glamorous lifestyle...
